haha a bit of both… disc herniation often occurs because of poor posture (+ repetitive straining to the intervertebral disc) or trauma (e.g. fall) which causes the herniated disc to rupture and push against the spinal nerve causing pain

  2. LordCorinth says:

i had this…. except mine was with the entire back half of the disc ripped out and the nucleus pushing hard against the main nerve of the spine….. causes pain to course throughout the body especially in the legs down the main nerve…. fixed in 3 hours by a surgery.
    hah!

I currently have really bad lower back pain – and the pain is radiating up and down, right and left, back and front. I had an X-Ray, and it came out normal. Anyone who can help me, so I don’t have to keep going back and forth to the doctor and finally decipher what this is?

  4. 1mungojerry1 says:

Lord PLEASE explain more detail about your surgery!
I’m on all the pain killers, epidural injections, dos pack steroids & anti-inflam medis probably known to man. Chiropractor/ DTS? Done that! I look like a crab on my worse days and missing wrk more often for lnger stretches of time. Used to weigh 300lbs and down to 245 after a year of changing my eating. The pain doesn’t go away. Crippling.
I’m 38 years old. 3 MRI’s, Degenerative Disc Dis, spurs, etc.. Is there anyone that can HELP ME???

  5. georgi2hotty says:

Dude Xrays are stupid and useless. Ask to see a neurologist and get an MRI or CTScan done…

  6. codexxgirl says:

Do the MRI ctscan. my sister had the same problem. xrays didnt help..

  7. lakerssuckballs says:

    OXYCONTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. TheMansour1 says:

    do an mri
I have the same complaint and did x_ray, it came out normal. but when I did MRI the doctor found Herniated Lumbar Disc at L4 – L5

  9. trickyepipany says:

Xray do not pick up disc or tissue problems.. unfortunatly because of insurance companies the doctors need to send in to things in order.. xray, phsyical therapy, etc.. before they send you for an MRI. MRI is the only thing that will truelly ppick up what is going on. Request it :)

  10. Lousje1983 says:

It’s better to make a CT-scan or a MRI from your back. Then they can see more at it. On that photos they had seen my hernias.

  11. darwiish222 says:

MRI is the most import to perform to know how mauch extensive is ok

  12. LEBRONJEFF1982 says:

I’ve been suffering from this for 5 years…

Thanks to 500 lbs. squats (sloppily)performed in my early 20’s that I regret every single day of my life…

  14. dadniz says:

Mungo hello I sympathise with your pain I have had 2 disc surgeries here is my advice , and experience .
    1 seek out a surgeon
    2 have MRI
    3Schedule surgery
4get into top condition by exercising and eating right get your core muscles tight and stay in shape Im not recommending weights but most reputable gyms have exercise classes
5 watch your posture stretch every day
Good luck do it for your self

  15. chimiyaz says:

with the x-rays we can see bones better if there is a problem with the curvature of the spine, but with the MRI we can see the nerves, the discs, the ligaments so yeah…in the end you need that one but there’s a reason for ordering the x-rays

  18. funkydlicious says:

they have cut me open there 4 times in 2 years & today again to the hospital because it’s still fucked up! Shit happens is now an understatement…meh!

  19. tinaater says:

I just found out i have a protruding disk i i am 26 years old and have had this pain since i was about 20 i have seen chiropractors and back doctors but they always blowed me off finally they gave me an mri and i found out about this. my pain is in my lower back i always feel fatigue and weak my pain often goes dow my leg sometimes it is so bad i cant get up or even walk sometimes the pain is in both legs i want to cry it hurts so bad.

  20. EmceeGeek says:

@tinaater same here and i’m 19. had to get an mri and found out i have a ruptured disc and its pinching my sciatic nerve in my left leg. someone mentioned a spillover from the disc too. i wonder what that irritates.

  21. marcomariaz26 says:

Technically, what they show is a Bulging disc, not a Herniated disc.
I had a herniated disc at L4/L5, and a bulging disc at L5. I fixed the bulging disc by hanging upside down, and had surgery (laminotomy-microdiskectomy) on L4 to repair the herniation. A herniated disc is when the nucleus gets out. It pinches the nerves and hurts like you cannot imagine.

  22. marcomariaz26 says:

@daisylovesmoy I had two injections, helped, but if the disc is herniated/ruptured, surgery is the only thing at that point. I had surgery 10 years ago, and can still squat 375, and deadlift same. Got to be careful, of course.

  23. JoseCoreMusic says:

I’m 18 and also have a hernia at the lumbar
And let me tall yah the pain is fuckn the worst to a point that crying is a fucking understatement sadly I have to wait for my docters evaluation to see if surgary is nerd even thou I do have a hiernia I take to many pills for pain on a bad day 10 to14 pills a day on a good day 7 pills
    Hurnias suck
But I wonder can anyone tell me how is recovery after the surgary???

  24. dloke01 says:

hello people, two years ago i had a 360 fusion on my l4,l5 n s1 with laminectamy w/hardware, bonegraft. and my back is still in pain, can’t sit too long and the pain is still constant. it might have help a bit but the pain is still there. so think twice before you get a surgery and good luck!

  25. vampyXboo says:

I am 15 years old. I has a bulding disc with my L5 S1 disc. Ive has 3 steroid injections done, 1 week apart. It helped a little. I’ve done physical therapy, and try to keep up with doing it at home as well. Lately, my pain has been more than it normal is. I might have surgary done but I am absolutly terrified the doctor could make the slightest mistake and hurt my spinal cord or the nerves coming out of it. If you know anything that could possably help me & avoid surgery plz contact me.
